About Alex
(yeah me…)

I'm a creative strategist and facilitator.

I learnt to lead groups at 17, running camps for hundreds of teenagers, still the toughest audience I've ever had. They clock the second you're not being real, so you learn fast!

My artistic and creative practice is the foundation for everything I do. It's taught me how to get results but following your intuition, working through difficulty and collaborating with people you love.

I bring this creative vibrancy into the spaces I create.

My work asks: what becomes possible when people connect deeply?

Over 15 years, I've designed and convened groups across universities, the arts and social impact, supporting people to think deeply, get real with each other and work better together.

I've led the Leading Researchers programme for over 100 academics at Cambridge, Edinburgh, Manchester and King's with 64 Million Artists. I've transformed digital strategy at a national arts organisation and brought inclusive design into progressive tech companies. I've also curated, produced and commissioned work by artists and cultural practitioners for live, exhibition and digital spaces, in partnership with Tate, the Barbican, Google Arts and Culture and more.

I was awarded a Year Here fellowship (at the RSA) in 2021 and in 2022 I co-founded Soda, a participatory design agency delivering regional co-production with the NHS and local communities.

I trained in complex group facilitation, Deep Democracy and conflict resolution with Processwork UK. I love learning. I am in a continual process of self-development and reflection which supports my thinking and practice.

I lead the non-profit initiative Angels of History to support communal dialogue, create belonging and reduce polarisation.

As an artist, I make documentary and art films exploring queer histories , archives, the intimacy of friendship and camp humour. They've shown at film festivals and galleries including the Berlinale, Tate Britain and Turner Contemporary. 

All my work is socially engaged and rooted in social justice. I'm deeply invested in building community, helping people find their voice, connect and create across difference in order to find joy in their work and lives.

I am based in London and travel regularly for work.
